Low Impact Brush Clearing & Optional Haul Off

Careful, selective brush clearing by hand using specialty tools.
Ideal for working around homes, outbuildings, driveways, ditches, trails, desirable plants and trees or other sensitive areas that may be hard to access. This service is perfect for places where machines cant or shouldn’t go: forest edges, overgrown driveways, wet zones, pollinator habitats or any place precision matters more than a machine.

Optional Haul offs available.

Hand Built Trails

Small, clean, and natural. These aren’t large roads, They’re trails meant to be walked. Using hand tools and low impact brush cutters I create narrow flowing paths ideal for enjoying the scenery.

Each trail is cleared with precision and care, stumps cut flush, brush removed and the natural ground revealed - contours, dips, roots and all. When blown clean, these paths settle in with the land, and over time, shaded areas can even develop mossy patches.

Pollinator & Native Species Friendly Design

Forget fighting the land. I help design spaces that work with what’s already growing - using native plants and trees that support native biodiversity.

This isnt turf and tidy mulch beds. Its meadows instead of mowing, seasonal color from wild flowers, and landscapes that come alive with the sounds of bees and butterflies. I can help guide or install plants that fit the terrain.

Maybe you want to rewild some open space, a forest edge, or create a pollinator patch I can help.

About Brush & Blade LLC

I grew up in and around the woods, the kind of places where the land teaches you things if you’re paying attention. Over the years, I’ve worked in various roles that kept me close to the land, including vineyard groundskeeping, a brief stint in commercial landscaping, and, most meaningfully, helping private landowners manage wild and semi-wild spaces to support biodiversity.

My passion lies in conserving and encouraging native species. I’ve spent hours in mosquito-thick forests thinning succession species to give oaks and hardwoods a fighting chance. I’ve hand-pulled Johnson grass from pollinator meadows to avoid using herbicides in sensitive habitats. I’ve run brush cutters under the full sun to protect open meadows from being swallowed by young trees.

All that to say — this work matters to me.

I started Brush & Blade to help more landowners re-wild their land, restore balance, and work with what’s been here for centuries before we arrived. I believe land management doesn’t always require the biggest machine or the fastest method. In a world obsessed with output and speed, we often end up mowing down the very things worth protecting.

My approach is more like carving stone — chiseling away what doesn’t belong to reveal the beauty that’s already there. Sometimes slower, more thoughtful work creates a better result than bulldozing everything and starting from scratch.
